Happy Birthday Baby!

Can't believe it~Brox is not only 1 but is actually nearly 14 months~ahem, his mom is awesome at updating. But not to mince words, here's the belated birthday post!

Broxton! You are so big these days! You learned to walk 2 weeks before your birthday and have been running with your 'fast shoes' his nike shocks ever since. You have had 8 teeth since before your birthday and are quite the chomper~one of your favorite words is "ouch" so you'll try to coax it out of the victim holding you~typically by using those pearly whites...we're working on it.:) You sleep through the night in your own crib!...even sleeping in til about 8 then coming in to bed with Mom til sometimes 10am... ya this kid is awesome... too bad his bed time is not the typical 8 though so don't be too green with sleep envy.
You LOVE to swim but if it's even possible, you love even more to shoot your mini basketball through your little tikes hoop (Brigg had this picked out months before his birthday he couldn't wait to give it to him!) or truthfully one that is a 'big boy' hoop..complete with the 'big boy' ball that dwarfs you into looking like Calvin from the comic series Calvin and Hobbes....needless to say shooting it into those 'big boy' hoops is a little dicey when your mom isn't exactly wnba material...Brigg is very much taken advantage of when this situation arises:)
You love to eat anything and then nothing at the same time...you love grapes~also a favorite word. Other words you say are:
Mommy
Daddy
Ball
Snack
Ice
Ouch
Baby
Grapes
Plus A LOT of chattering! You are a little chatterbox!
But you know what many other words mean, you'll pick your favorite books out of your book shelf, you know exactly what 'outside' means and would literally be out there all day if you could, you love Graham the baby and insist on being very close to him and showering him with 'loves'. You are so good at cooperating with the many requests of family for more of those loves:) You love to cuddle and in the mornings especially we'll get an arm draped over us or our face held in your hands...I'm going to miss this phase when it's over. You are possibly the best morning person (if it counts as morning at 10 am) but can be a beastie if you miss any of those naps thereafter.:) You love the park and the swings especially...You love to go on walks and runs (a little too few and far between sadly):) You are such a sweet boy and we love having you in our family, it wouldn't be complete without you! Love you best boy!

Be~Lated Happy Birthday Brigg!!

This may or may not be the theme of our lives but here is the LATE Happy Birthday post:)
Brigg turned 25 this go around, he's officially a quarter of a century, 2.5 decades...old:) It's a real bummer that we're away from family in the summer and I feel like Brigg always gets the shaft as far as family celebrations so we tried to make it up to him....
Complete with a rice crispy tennis ball cake and cup cakes....a true sign of love from a wife who doesn't play the 'gentleman's sport' and instead is a heathen and enjoys running etc.

I did a terrible job of taking pictures, but hopefully Brigg had a good day though there isn't much documentation...
Here's the some of reasons why we're glad you're our Dad and Husband limited to 25:
1. You make us laugh~though we shouldn't admit it too often, wouldn't want you to get a big head:)
2."You are crazy, actually insane"
3. You LOVE your meat and potatoes~you know what you like, what you want and work hard to get it.
4. You're a hard worker, actually probably one of the hardest hard workers we know
5. You share your "snacks" slushies and anything remotely good with a 10 month old
6. You don't seem to get sick of playing with Brox...ever
7. You love us:)
8. You love God
9. You love funfetti frosting~it's the one guilty pleasure I've ever seen you indulge in, I know you're really splurging when i catch you eating the funfetti out of the can...don't worry friends, it's not used for frosting desserts, he's got his own 'go to' jar resting in the fridge for when he needs it most.
10. You enjoy sports
11. You're competitive
12. You aren't very good at cards...sorry love...but it's really fun for me to actually beat you at something.
13. We're both competitive, therefore a good match:)
14. You are great at cooking german pancakes and rice...one cup water 2 cups rice:)
15. You're still the best at singing in the shower....excellent resonation...I think this is where Brox gets the idea to yell in all environments leaning toward the slightest hint of an echo...Sacrament meeting is a real winner here.:)
16. You have a realistic but optimistic attitude, you've got a real talent for seeing it half full.
17. You like to learn...not in school, but you're interested in learning new things
18. You take criticism very well...I'm sorry when it comes from me!
19. You're very patient with EVERYONE!
20. You avoid criticizing others, you're a great example to me
21. You are a good coach~willing to look for the best in people
22. You're a great listener
23. You give an honest opinion...enter in disclaimer~home-cooked meals don't always fall under this
24. You've put up with Brox in our bed for months because (I think) I claim that I get a better night's sleep that way. Thanks
25. You bought a pack and play for mother's day so now Brox can sleep in his own bed while we're away from home...turns out I sleep better when he's NOT in the bed:)

We Love you for so many reasons, we're excited to get to spend so many more birthdays with you and add to our list!:)
Happy Happy Birthday Love!

Thank you Aunt Marianne for my new tennis outfit, complete with sweats:) I now match Graham:)

Mother's Day gift~Brigg got me a pack and play so little man can have his own bed while we're out for the summer..THANK YOU BABE! Pay special attention to the feet sticking out from UNDER the box.
I'm Big like You:) Brox likes to kick things and especially has a small infatuation with my feet and shoes...I finally let him wear them...

Official 9 month picture

Going outside swimming...Loved it

Ok rather than make an excuse for not updating my blog, I'll just prolong carpal tunnel and post what I would've posted earlier this month...
Brox is now 9 months, it is unreal to me how time has flown, this little man is the 'best boy'. We just love him! And while I realize that this is a common statement among parents, I feel like we love him more:) Love for me this past month is having your little boy lay his head down on you because even though we're surrounded by pillows he'd rather be close to you. Love is him wanting to be near you when you're cooking, cleaning and getting ready for the day....even if that means he's playing yet again with some dumpy measuring spoons etc, it's still fun because he's with you. Love is when he tries to pretend laugh just to get you to laugh with him...kind of sounds like a pirate:) Love is when he grabs your face and brings it his; love is when he pauses whatever he is doing to give you 'loves' ~ his version of a kiss which are of course open month kisses, haha~just because you asked for one. Love is him laying his head down on your shoulder while you're carrying him or maybe him staring at you for a long time just because he wants to. Love is him wanting to wrestle~his version includes him even play biting~. Love is him being willing to go with the flow, since we're on more of a schedule (I'm a terrible mom, he's 9 months and we just got a nap schedule down) he's happy to do most anything and any time. Love is him wanting to wear your sunglasses because as of now, Brigg and I are pretty cool still:) Love is a lot of things, but love for us is mostly this little man:)

Not crawling yet, has two teeth, is finally sleeping through the night, in his own bed~awesome:)~ Likes to eat: Yogurt, 'snacks'~thank you Finley for introducing us to these delightful morsels~rice, bread, strawberries, watermelon, pancakes/waffles, lemons/limes, sweet potato fries, ICE CREAM~thank you papa:) oh and he hates all baby food veggies...still

I hope they call me on a Mission....And they did!!

My youngest brother finally got his mission call this Wednesday! I say finally because we thought it was coming a few weeks earlier so each passing wednesday we would all check in with home base to see if the post office had called...well they called....the envelope was picked up....and with anxious family sitting around it was opened....

EVERETT, WASHINGTON!!! Set to leave July 20th!
We all had our guesses....and to put in my 'sister' thought~because we know wherever his call, it's going to be where he is most needed~ but I'd hoped for a temperate climate....the older of the two bro's Michael and my Dad had to deal with unreal humidity... my guess was San Diego....but sheesh WA??? On the coast? Wild Blackberries growing on the road? Mid temps year round?! WOw. I'm way excited for you...we might show up sometime during these next two years.
We are so so excited for this opportunity for you Hobbler, you're going to be a great missionary. We know that you will have a great opportunity to help people who are searching for something more in their lives by being able to share the sweet message of the restored Gospel here on the earth, of forever families, a living Prophet and of our loving Savior Jesus Christ. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

7 months

Hi, my name is Brox. I don't speak yet but I can write...who knew:) My Mom has apparently given up on blogging almost as much as she has given up on feeding me that disgusting food that comes in mini jars....oh and making me sleep in my own bed:) I'm 7 months old now and I love all sorts of things, let me tell you a little about myself: I enjoy walks outside~if there was a beach near by that would be my first choice but currently I'm impartial to the park~ I like to read books and am starting to get the hang of turning pages for mom when she doesn't turn fast enough. I'm really pretty much the best at sitting all by myself and playing with my cool toys, maybe I'll look into crawling sometime next month?? If I can fit it into my schedule of course. I like going to Hobby Lobby with Mom and anyone who she can rope into coming with her...mostly my aunt which is fun, she makes me laugh...and she's cooking my cousin in her belly right now so I'm excited whenever I get to see her. I am super good at growling and yelling....for some reason everyone laughs at this when really I'm just trying to tell them various stuff....they don't listen, just keep laughing...very frustrating as you can imagine:) I like to swim....I've been a few times and when mom isn't looking I take a few champion swimming strokes...I've almost got the flip-turn down. Maybe by the time I decide to crawl I'll get it mastered. Which brings me to another point, I like to take steps a lot! The whole being on your belly thing really is for the birds...I prefer to be on my feet or chewing on them while sitting. I also like to cook with mom, I'm pretty good at keeping her on task by banging my measuring cups/spoons on my bumbo tray.
For those of you that were worried, I'm the picture of health now and as of today am eating regularly again...which is great because my handsome boy jeans were hanging on my not so wide hips by a thread. I'm going to try lifting, I hear that's all the rage...or maybe baby push-ups are a good start. I really am enjoying myself these days, I love to laugh but I know how to hold a great poker face.
Really, me and Mom, we got something good; we get to play all day and wait for Dad to come home. He cracks me up, I know exactly what it sounds like when he unlocks the door and I always turn my head to listen to him yell for me. Yeah, he's pretty cool....still trying to convince him that the king size bed has enough room for all of us in it. Well, gotta go, it's bed time. Peace out.

6 months...very old post

Ok so this post has been waiting to be posted for quite some time and so I'm sorry, but since this is my form of journaling, 6 months cannot be skipped...
Mr Boss aka Brox, has reached the age old age of 6 months, I can't hardly believe it. He's not due for his 6 month appointment for a week or so but he's at least 17 pounds~how do i know this you ask? We've officially been sick for the first time in his life...mom changed her first set of sheets that had been thrown up on as a mom and Brox spent the first full night back in our bed. Needless to say, little man has a cold and spent his half birthday celebrating with a fever followed with a doctor's appointment on Valentimes day~Happy Happy Valentines~

His coming home from the hospital outfit...a little tight yes?

For valentines we went to color me mine and decorated a plate with all our handprints

This is Brox's 6 month version of feeding himself

Meet whipped cream:)

5 months! and Christmas...

Ok seriously I'd tell him to smile and viola...what a ham:)

New Year's Day, Brox's first time miniature golfing

First time bowling! Sorry to say...didn't win...or come close even.
2.5 years~We're always gone in the summer so we miss our anniversary. So we improvised and had our top layer a year and a half late but hey better late than never I suppose:)
Bronson and Kell constructing their "Grinchmas" houses

Christmas Day!!

I'm guessing about 16 pounds and maybe another inch? So a grand total of 25" for little man. I can't believe how fast this is going. Sure do wish that the pregnancy part went this fast....his personality is coming through more and more so here's the update
Brox's loves:
1. His hands! He loves to munch on them whenever he can; both hands or just one at a time though he starts with his left, he is an equal opportunist.
2. Using his left hand to grab everything
3. Drinking out of mom and dad's cup
4. His dear dear passy...he loves to pull it out and then try to put it back into his mouth. Which usually means him getting frustrated with being poked in the eye again.
5. He rubs his eyes and covers his face when he's tired
6. Our bed
7. Putting his hands behind his head when he's bathing or just relaxing
8. Going on walks
9. Kicking in the bath~definitely the swimming side coming out:)
10. Grabbing your face when he wants to cuddle
11. Eating
12. Talking in the morning and late at night
Brox hates:
1. Baby food...all the kinds
2. Animal crackers...all the kinds
3. Juice...all the kinds
4. Cribs...all the kinds
5. Limes-thank you Aunts:)

It's only January 18th and it seems like Christmas was an eternity ago. Christmas decorations have been put away-though our tree still remains looking naked and quite forlorn without any decor on it(thank you 2 bedroom apartment...it's waiting to be transported to a much roomier Grandma's house until next year). And I find myself thinking where did the time go? I hate snow already and it's mid January. So to try and refluff some christmas cheer into our lives here's our Christmas post:)

Christmas was fun and sad for the same reason this year~with everyone growing up and moving out, the odds of having all of our family members around on Dec 25th is getting less and less likely. On the King side we were all so happy to have everyone home for the first time in 2 years. Sadly on the Barron side~Mike,Bree and babies you were very much missed, though we entirely understand-we will cross our fingers for next year:)
Growing up I remember people commenting on the size of our family (7kids) Barrons(6 kids) whenever we ventured out of the state on vacation we were a total anomole...it was almost a game to see who could find the passerby counting the number of heads that made up our King/Barron clan. Despite the chaos of so many people and personalities together, I as well as Brigg wouldn't trade it for the world. When we're together we have so much fun, each person in our family is unique~to put it lightly:)~ and when one person is missing, it is obvious. And though we were entirely spoiled this year by our parents on both sides, the best part of Christmas was being able to enjoy it with everyone most including the newest addition Brox~who hands down was the recipient of what seemed like half of Santa's workshop.
Thank you to everyone for the thoughtful gifts we received, we are grateful for the thought and effort you went to in creating and finding things that you knew we'd enjoy. We are most especially grateful for your love. Merry Merry Christmas:)
